Last year, the Toyota Tundra received an impressive redesign that included a punched up interior and a dramatic exterior restyling. For 2015, the popular pickup is getting a few new features under the hood, including a new standard V8 engine, as well as an available spray-in bed liner and an all-new TRD Pro model that comes with a unique off-road suspension.
Powered previously by a standard V6 engine, the 2015 Toyota Tundra will now come with two available V8 engines, including the newly standard 4.6-liter i-Force V8 that rates at 310 horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of torque and the optional high-powered 5.7-liter i-Force V8 that produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. According to a press release, both engines will be paired with a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, as well as a standard rear-wheel-drive system and an optional 4WD system.
Equally exciting is the Tundra’s new TRD Pro off-road model that is all-new this model year. This new model will feature TRD Pro bed panel stamping, a special blackout grille, black headlight bezels, matte satin black badges and a skid plate. This more aggressive trim will also sport 18-inch TRD black alloy wheels, as well as the 5.7-liter V8 and a TRD dual exhaust system. Off-road drivers will especially love the TRD’s new suspension that increases the truck’s ride height and extends its wheel-base.
