Truck buyers will be able to choose between two new body styles on the Tacoma: Access – a.k.a. Extended – and Crew Cab. Both body styles come in five trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and Limited. Among the new features on these trims is a new touchscreen display that offers navigation and entertainment through smartphone integration. The truck’s interior gets a new center stack, as well as a nifty GoPro camera that is perfect for all your off-roading adventures.
The new Tacoma is adding an all-new 3.5-liter V6 engine to its current engine list that already includes the 2.7-liter four-cylinder. The new V6 will feature optimized fuel injection, as well as an Atkinson power cycle that will help improve the truck’s fuel economy. Both engines will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, though a manual transmission will be offered on the V6.
