In a recent vehicle comparison conducted by Motor Trend, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser was thrown up against competitors from Jeep and Mercedes-Benz in a unique “end of the world” test. Each SUV was put through torturous evaluations that tested their off-road worthiness and endurance.

The winning SUV was the 2016 Land Cruiser, which proved to be apocalypse proof, with features like Multi-Terrain Select, Off-Road Turn Assist and a hydraulically actuated suspension system, all of which impressed judges. Under the hood, the Land Cruiser’s 5.7-liter V8 engine provided ample power, 381 horses and 401 lb-ft of torque, while a brand-new eight-speed automatic sent power to a full-time four-wheel-drive system.

Motor Trend judges evaluated the Land Cruiser against a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and Mercedes-Benz G550 in a variety of scenarios. From the mountains in northwestern Colorado to the rocky Poison Spider trail in Moab, Utah, judges tested the limits and highlights of each SUV under tough driving conditions. The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser offered the best balance of performance in all terrains, making it the No. 1 pick among judges.

If you’re in the market for a capable SUV with the skill to tackle snowy mountains and rocky deserts, come try out the 2016 Land Cruiser in Richardson, Texas!
