The 2025 espnW: Women + Sports Summit in Ojai, CA, was an exciting and inspiring event for women athletes and for Toyota. Marking the 10th anniversary of the Toyota Everyday Heroes program, the company recognized girls and women who are making meaningful contributions in sports. Each honoree received a $15,000 award to honor their achievements.

The 10th Class of Toyota Everyday Heroes

Toyota ambassador Jess Sims attended the summit to present awards at the espnW: Women + Sport Summit, a high-profile event that has been held for 13 years. Over the three-day gathering, Toyota showcased the 2026 RAV4, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner, and most importantly, the outstanding girls and women chosen as Toyota Everyday Heroes. The announcements brought inspiration and excitement to everyone in attendance.

ā€œToyota is proud to honor Jessica Carter of HER Sports and Amberly Klam of Texas Fury as the 2025 Everyday Heroes for their outstanding work using sports to create opportunities and empowerment within their communities,ā€ said MJ Kroll, senior manager of media at Toyota Motor North America.

Jessica Carter, a former college basketball player from Virginia, founded HER Sports to help girls in her community fully benefit from sports. Her mission focuses on providing equal opportunities for every girl. HER Sports currently supports around 400 girls through four key programs.

Amberly Klam was also recognized in this year’s class of Everyday Heroes. She founded the Texas Fury flag football organization and actively encourages girls to participate in the sport. Inspired by her daughter Ashlea’s passion for flag football, Klam works to give other girls the same opportunity to play.

Toyota was thrilled to once again participate in the espnW Women + Sport Summit and highlight some of its latest innovations to attendees. The three-day event was impactful for both athletes and the company, and Toyota looks forward to continuing its involvement in espnW programs that empower people through sports.
