Specs at a Glance

The 2020 Toyota Camry comes in six trim levels, two of which are the TRD and the XSE. The TRD is the top trim in the Camry family for 2020. The XSE is a mid-level trim. The TRD, which stands for ā€œToyota Racing Development,ā€ is a sporty trim level that tops the Toyota Camry lineup in 2020. The TRD even gets its custom sporty accents, and it is powered by a standard V6 engine that is available for the other trim levels, including the XSE. Along with the different powertrains, there are some aesthetic differences between the two trim levels, and they have their own unique set of interior features.

Performance and Handling

A standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine powers the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE. The base engine gives the XSE 206 HP in power capacity and 186 LB-FT of torque. You can upgrade to the V6 engine that powers the TRD if you want a more powerful version of the XSE instead. The V6 engine, which is standard on the TRD, delivers 300 HP and more than 265 LB-FT in torque. Both trim levels have the same transmission, an eight-speed automatic, and they provide you with front-wheel drive. Both are offered with all-wheel drive instead.

Exterior Style and Appearance

LED headlights are standard on the Toyota Camry XSE, and TRD trim levels. Some athletic exterior elements are also included with the two trim levels, including a shapely grille design and a muscular, chiseled exterior overall. The XSE has a sporty look on the inside to match its exterior, including innovative leather upholstery with black contrast stitching for a dramatic look inside and out. With the TRD comes a similar exterior appearance, except for larger 19-inch wheels. There are some interior differences to distinguish the two trims as well.

Interior and Features

The TRD and XSE have some interior amenities in common, including an eight-inch infotainment system and dual-zone climate control. The XSE has an enhanced sound system with a JBL stereo. It also has adaptive cruise control and is available with navigation. A heated steering wheel on both trims translates to more pleasant winter driving. Along with all the other features found on the XSE, the TRD adds a few extras, including keyless entry, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. Leather upholstery comes with both trims, along with a suite of safety aids.
