The XSE is the base model, and it comes with a powerful engine that carries through to most of the other trim levels as well as a few perks that give it an overall sporty ride.

The Touring trim level is a step above the XSE for 2019. It has the same global powertrain, and the interior is accessorized with aluminum trim paired with Ultrasuede fabric. The highest trim level available for 2019 is the Limited trim. The interior of the Limited it outfitted with real wood trim and leather seats and door panels. The soft leather has quilted stitching for added definition.

Each trim level also has a few unique features, but you will find that all of them share similar updates for you to enjoy on the road. These include a 12-volt power outlet, three USB ports, a wireless charging station, Apple CarPlay, a customized infotainment program, a large touchscreen display, 14 speakers and an excellent audio system.

How Does the 2019 Avalon Perform?

This base engine is a 3.5-liter, gas-powered V6 engine that comes with a front-wheel drive drivetrain and an automatic eight-speed transmission. The sportier trims, which are the XSE and the Touring trims, also have standard rev-matching capabilities with the downshifter and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

In addition to the gas-powered engine, you can also opt for a hybrid model that is equipped with an inline four-cylinder engine and a battery that is stored below the rear row of seats. For both the gas-powered and hybrid engines, the 2019 Avalon comes with adaptive damping and a variable active suspension system.
