This collaboration between Toyota Motor North America and Cirba Solutions expands the automaker’s battery recycling network for BEVs, PHEVs, and HEVs. Cirba Solutions demonstrates an impressive 95% recovery rate for extracting critical elements, reducing costs for Toyota while advancing its aim for a closed-loop battery recycling system. Benefiting from a substantial grant by the U.S. Department of Energy, Cirba Solutions has enhanced its Lancaster, Ohio facility. This facility will extract battery-grade materials from spent batteries, reintegrating them into the supply chain for future EV use.
