Our Commitment is to make the process as simple and hassle-free as
possible. We hope you'll find the following checklist helpful in
the unfortunate event of an accident.
Ensure all vehicles involved in the collision move out of traffic.
o If possible and legal, pull into a parking lot or other low-traffic area; pull to the shoulder of the road if the best/only option.
o Be sure you pull as far out of traffic as possible.
o Ensure you stay clear of the road AT ALL TIMES.
All vehicle ignitions should be turned off as soon as possible.
Check the scene for any persons in immediate danger or needing medical attention.
o Discover if any are in need of First Aid
o Do not attempt to move anyone seriously injured
o Call 9-1-1 and report any injuries so that they may dispatch Emergency Medical Services, if needed.
o Follow any instructions given by the 9-1-1 Operator
Review the accident scene for any objects that may obstruct traffic or cause risk or additional damage to someone.
o If safe, remove obstructions.
o If unsafe, report to 9-1-1 Operator
Gather the following information:
o Name and contact information of all witnesses
o Note Name, license plate, and description of all vehicles involved
o While it is fresh on your mind, write down your account of the accident
o Exchange Insurance Information with all parties involved and contact your insurance provider as soon as reasonably possible.
