Available in four trim levels, the 2016 Highlander offers a host of terrific standard features that are perfect for whatever your families' needs might be. The base LE trim starts things off with 18-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Toyota's Entune audio system, heated side mirrors, an integrated backup camera, a new tow package on V6 models and an in-dash shelf with USB ports.
The next-level LE Plus trim adds foglights and three-zone climate control to the crossover, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, SiriusXM satellite radio and a power rear liftgate. The XLE trim sees more luxury features added to the Highlander, including leather-trimmed sets, a tilt-slide moonroof, heated front seats, Chromtec roof rails, an anti-theft system, Driver Easy Speak and a 4.2-inch color multi-information display.
Finally, several 2016 Toyota Highlander reviews recommend choosing the Limited trim if you want the most luxury and convenience out of the crossover, including heated and ventilated front seats, ambient interior lighting, LED daytime running lights and 19-inch Chromtec alloy wheels.
Power-wise, the crossover comes in both gas-only and hybrid models. The gas-powered Highlanders come with two engine options: a 185-hp 2.7-liter four-cylinder on the base LE model or a 270-hp 3.5-liter V6 that is standard on the higher trims. The crossover's hybrid model is powered by the same 3.5-lite V6 as the gas-only model, but it is also paired with a high-torque electric drive motor-generator that gives the car increased fuel efficiency and power.
Safety features on the 2016 Toyota Highlander in Richardson are also robust and include eight standard airbags, enhanced vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, smart stop technology and electronic brake-force distribution.
