Richardson Toyota Dealer Researches the New Yaris
Agile, efficient and just plain fun, the 2016 Toyota Yaris continues its legacy as a terrific small hatchback that drivers of all ages can enjoy. Carrying over most of its features from last year, this year's model of the Yaris does get a few new color schemes, including Barcelona Red or Crushed Ice being paired with a Black Sand Pearl roof. The 2016 Toyota Yaris in Richardson comes in three trims: L, LE and SE. Standard features on the L trim include sport-tuned electric power steering, color-keyed folding outside mirrors, a 3-spoke tilt steering wheel, a cargo area cover, power windows with driver's side auto up/down and power door locks with illuminated entry. The Yaris LE model adds cruise control, remote keyless entry with engine immobilizer, steering wheel audio controls and power mirrors.
The sporty SE trim gets a unique black front grille, a rear spoiler, black headlight trim, black interior trim, a rear diffuser and machined spoke 16-inch alloy wheels. The Yaris SE also delivers a bit of luxury to the hatchback, including a leather-trimmed steering wheel, LED daytime running lights and four-wheel disc brakes.
All Yaris models come equipped with Toyota's Entune Audio system that includes a 6.1-touchscreen, a 6-speaker sound system, HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, voice recognition and hands-free phone capability.
Standard safety features on the 2016 Toyota Yaris near Dallas are also extensive. They include front seat side airbags, a driver's knee airbag, dual-stage airbags, side curtain shield airbags and front seat cushion airbags. It also comes with the Toyota Star Safety system that offers Smart Stop Technology, antilock braking, traction and stability control, and electronic brake-force distribution.
Under the hood, the Yaris is powered by a 1.5-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine that produces 106 horsepower and 103 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
