All the trim levels of the Toyota 86 come standard with a four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and rear-wheel drive (RWD). The standard features of the base trim level of the Toyota 86 model are a USB port, a rearview camera, HD radio, eight-speaker stereo, 7.0 LCD touchscreen, hill-start assist, Bluetooth Connectivity, leather wrapped steering wheel, and shift knob. Buyers can opt for a six-speed automatic transmission at a cost of $720. At an extra $2,100, buyers can get the GT trim level that offers heated front seats, high-quality upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, and automatic climate control. Navigation features is optional for all trim levels and buyers have to part with $900 to get the feature. Buyers have the option of upgrading the 86 models with TRD performance by adding lowering springs costing $639, brake pads at $70, an air filter at $ 75, a performance exhaust system at $1,100, and a sway bar at $550.

The GT model offers comfort features like heated outside mirrors, leather and suede front seats, a TRD performance exhaust, a rear spoiler, a 4.2-inch LCD touchscreen, a push-button start, Brembo brakes, and a performance suspension damper. The Special TDR Special Edition builds on the GT trim and adds special and unique body styling.

The new Toyota 86 has a power output of 205 hp and 156 pound-feet torque when coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. The power output of the model reduces to a horsepower of 200 when coupled with six-speed auto transmission and a torque of 151 pound-feet. For adequate power and comfort driving, buyers should opt for the manual transmission at the expense of automatic transmission.
