If you thought the Toyota Corolla car was a standout vehicle in the past, the 2020 Toyota Corolla will leave you even more impressed. A jaw-dropping exterior design and the addition of a tech-packed, ultra-safe cabin are notable changes to the Corolla in the latest model year. The newest Corolla comes with 18-inch wheels for the first time, which are available based on the trim level that you choose to get. Depending on the trim level, you'll get a Corolla powered by a new and stronger engine, which is a 2.0L engine that generates more horsepower than in the past.
A revised audio system with Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay capacity is standard for the latest Corolla model year. The 2020 Toyota Corolla is also available with a metallic gray paint color, which expands its color options from the previous years. You'll find more standard safety technology on the newest Corolla, as well as a bold new exterior look complete with more chiseled edges, a more athletic stance, and LED lights. The hood has been lowered to improve driver visibility, and this year's Corolla comes with a longer wheelbase to improve its agility and make your rides as comfortable as possible.
There are six trim levels available in the 2020 Toyota Corolla, which includes a hybrid edition. Even with the base trim, you'll find a number of salient standard amenities. Starting with the base trim, you'll get a seven-inch infotainment system with Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay. Six speakers are standard. The higher trim levels, in contrast, come standard with eight-inch infotainment display screens instead. They get more technology too, including navigation and a more advanced sound system. LED lights vary based on trim level. On the sportier trims, the LED lights have a distinctive smoky finish to set them apart from the pack. Available on all trims is Apple Watch compatibility, which lets you monitor and control your vehicle's functions with a touch of your wristband.
There are three engines offered in the 2020 Toyota Corolla. The base engine is the same that powered previous Corolla models. This engine is a 1.8L, four-cylinder engine that produces up to 139 HP. A larger and more powerful engine, which is a new option for this year, is a 2.0L, four-cylinder engine that produces about 30 more HP. The final engine, which powers the hybrid, is a four-cylinder that creates up to 121 HP. This engine is paired with an electric motor that produces about 71 additional HP. Together, the engines give the Corolla hybrid a fuel economy that is about 20 MPG better than what you'll get with the standard Corolla. In both the regular and gasoline versions, you have the option of getting either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The automatic transmission this year has a unique gear-shifting technology that is faster and offers smoother shifting capabilities than Corolla transmissions in the past.
Toyota consistently wins awards for its safety features, and the 2020 Corolla looks just as strong. In 2020, the Corolla comes with a number of standard safety features, including eight airbags throughout the cabin. All trim levels of the 2020 Toyota Corolla also come with a number of driver-assist safety aids, which are packed into the Toyota Safety Sense kit. You'll find lane-keep assist, lane-change alert, forward collision monitoring, and automatic pedestrian detection as part of this comprehensive safety package. The 2020 Corolla also has an innovative feature called traffic sign assist, which reads highway signs in advance and displays them on the Corolla dashboard.
