What's New For the 2020 Toyota Sequoia?

In 2020, the Sequoia makes a triumphant return to the market with a bold new appearance and a longer list of standard features. Now, all trim levels of the Toyota Sequoia are equipped with improved technology, which comes in the form of an updated infotainment display screen complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All five trims of the Sequoia also get a new suspension system this year, which makes off-road adventures even more comfortable and more enjoyable. This year's lineup adds a new trim, called the TRD Pro, bringing the Sequoia's list of trim offerings to five. The TRD Pro, which is the latest trim, offers a seven-seat configuration with captain's chairs in the second row. A full set of driver safety tools comes standard even at the base level providing award-winning safety regardless of the model that you choose. Along with the standard features offered on all trims, optional packages and add-ons provide more opportunities for a custom finish.

2020 Sequoia Trims & Features

The 2020 Toyota Sequoia lineup features five trim levels. The base trim is the SR5. Although this trim has been offered in previous model years, it gets more features and amenities this year to make it a more value-oriented base model than ever. The SR5 now comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It proudly sports the new seven-inch infotainment system that is now standard on all Sequoia trim levels. This trim's exterior is defined by LED headlights and 18-inch wheels.

The second trim is the TRD Pro. It also gets the new infotainment system and an updated suspension system. The TRD Pro gets more outdoor-oriented amenities compared to the base trim. This includes anti-roll bars in the back, a stiffer front end, and sport-tuned dampers. Cosmetically, it stands out with unique badges and a black roof rack. The TRD Pro, new this year, gets specialized fog lights, off-road shocks, all-weather floor mats, and running boards.

The Limited trim, fourth in line, gets auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors. You can upgrade the sound system to a JBL with more speakers and add a Blu-ray entertainment system in the back.

The Platinum gets all the previous amenities along with an adaptive air suspension, heated seats in the front two rows, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and a second center console in the back row. A nine-inch Blu-ray Disc player, which is optional on the previous trim, comes standard on the Platinum. Perforated leather seats are standard as well.

2020 Toyota Sequoia Horsepower

2020 Toyota SequoiaAll trims of the 2020 Sequoia share the same engine, which has a 5.7L tank and eight cylinders. This engine creates 381 HP and slightly more than 400 LB-FT of torque. Rear-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain, regardless of the Sequoia trim that you choose. However, the four-wheel-drive is available for all five trim levels. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard on all versions of the 2020 Toyota Sequoia as well.

2020 Toyota SequoiaThis year, all trims get the Toyota Safety Sense package of driver-assist safety aids. This package includes pre-collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and more. All trims also get the Star Safety System with traction control and vehicle stability control.
