What's New for the 2021 Toyota Avalon?

Available with a hybrid powertrain that employs the Dynamic Force engine, the 2021 Toyota Avalon is more efficient and powerful than before. Some other performance-boosting features for this full-size sedan include the Active Cornering Assist and Adaptive Variable Suspension.

What Are the Avalon Trims & Features?

The 2021 Toyota Avalon offers five trims and three on the Avalon Hybrid. The first three trims for both models share the same names and have virtually identical features. With the XLE comes alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, and heated mirrors. There are many comforts and conveniences, including heated seats, simulated leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, USB ports in both rows, and an audio system with eight speakers. It comes with a large touchscreen with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration.

The XSE has black exterior accents, including black wheels, and it gets a rear spoiler on the Avalon Hybrid. The Limited trim focuses on luxury with chrome alloy wheels and a refined interior complete with leather upholstery, wood trim accents, ambient lights, and heated seats for all. Avalon also has a sportier Touring trim with aluminum interior trim, microsuede seat inserts, chrome exhaust tips, and adaptive suspension dampers. The top TRD trim has a black painted roof, red accent stitching, and red seat belts. It also has a performance exhaust.

Toyota Avalon Performance

Generating up to 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, a 3.5 L V6 engine powers the 2021 Avalon. Gasoline enters the combustion chambers through the D-4S Dual Injection mechanism. This naturally aspirated powertrain includes a valvetrain with the VVT-iW and VVT-i technologies. Claiming the latest Dynamic Force nameplate, a 2.5 L I-4 engine drives the hybrid models. You can maximize the fuel economy by selecting the ECO Mode. The gas engine is completely disengaged by the EV Mode, which offers a reasonable driving range in the city. The Dynamic Force engine is paired with an electronically controlled CVT system. The six-cylinder powertrain works in tandem with the Direct-Shift 8AT system. Additionally, this full-size Toyota sedan offers an all-wheel drive system. When equipped with the Active Cornering Assist, the 2021 Avalon offers exceptional handling on curved roads.

Avalon Safety at the Forefront

The Pre-Collision System is a standard active safety technology on the 2021 Avalon. Powered by the Toyota Safety Sense P bundle, the PCS uses a camera and radar device to scan your path for pedestrians and cars. Some other accident-mitigation features from the TSS-P suite include the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert. Fitted with ten airbags, this full-size Toyota sedan receives high marks in passive safety. The driver and front occupant are unlikely to suffer from neck injuries during a crash, thanks to the Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seating. If you require emergency assistance, use the standard Safety Connect technology.
