What's New For the 2021 Toyota RAV4?

The gas-powered Toyota RAV4 is mostly the same for 2021 as it was in 2020. The RAV4 Hybrid, however, comes with some changes, including a new trim. You can even get a completely new model called the Prime in 2021. The Prime offers exceptional power and performance, and it also has an impressive amount of electric range. The RAV4 uses a four-cylinder engine. The others run on electricity and gasoline. The Hybrid is now offered with a new mid-level trim named the XLE Premium. The XLE Premium is available on the RAV4 too, but it has some minor differences from the Hybrid version. There are two trims on the 2021 Prime. Both come with many standard components and can be further customized with more add-on options and packages. Top safety equipment is included in all models.

2021 RAV4 Trims & Features

The gasoline-based RAV4 has six trim levels. You'll get five trims rather than four this year for the RAV4 Hybrid. Two are included in the Prime. The RAV4 and Hybrid start with the LE. You can choose from nine paint colors to give your LE a perfect finish. It has an interactive infotainment system with a seven-inch screen. A larger eight-inch screen is included on the higher-end trims. All-wheel drive with torque vectoring is available. The Hybrid LE has a multi-information display screen. The XLE adds projector-beam headlights with chrome accents. Fog lights and several safety aids are added to the RAV4 XLE.

The XLE Premium has larger 19-inch wheels on the RAV4 and 18-inch wheels on the Hybrid. The XLE Premium includes custom 18-inch wheels on the RAV4 Hybrid. It also has memory settings for the front seats. On the RAV4 Hybrid, the sporty trim, XSE gets heated front seats, two-tone paint with black trim, a sport-tuned suspension, and an 8-inch touchscreen display. Simulated leather seats are standard. Black-accented wheels are included on the Adventure trim. The TRD Off-Road has six-spoke alloy wheels. Chrome-polished wheels are included on the Limited. The base Prime trim, called the SE, has a battery pack, power liftgate, and heated seats. The XSE builds on that list with a black roof and chrome wheels.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Horsepower

An electronically-regulated transmission is included on the 2021 RAV4 to provide seamless shifting and a smooth ride. The RAV4 reaches 0-60 MPH in just over nine seconds. The Prime reaches 60 MPH in 60 seconds. The Prime tacks on three electric motors for power, while the Hybrid uses one. The Hybrid's peak power output is 219 HP. The Prime creates 300 HP.

This RAV4 has forward collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring is added on the second trim.
