Toyota has been contemplating the future of automaking for a while now. How can we streamline the process? How do we keep cars affordable, but safe, fun and innovative? Will robots eventually replace humans on the factory floor? Well it appears that the automaker has finally found these answers; answers that showcase exactly why Toyota continues to be one of the world’s top automakers.

Toyota is creating the future of car manufacturing through simplification. By simplifying the process, Toyota has found that not only can they continue to create their top-of-the-line cars, they can also do it in an efficient and practical way. This new system has been named “Toyota New Global Architecture,” or TNGA. TNGA is a newly simplified way of building cars; one that puts the basics of auto manufacturing back in the hands of humans, while also providing even better handling, safety and ride quality.

Basically, this new “Global Architecture” will allow the automaker to cut extraneous costs on the factory floor and put those new dividends back into other parts of the company like employee benefits, engineering innovations and local communities. Right now the all-new 2016 Toyota Prius is the first Toyota car to be built on the new TNGA system, and if early reviews are any indication, this new Prius is exactly what the automaker was looking for when they promised to build “Ever-Better Cars.”
