Fans around the world celebrated an auspicious occasion this October: Back to the Future Day. Back to the Future Day, Oct. 21, 2015, was the infamous day when Marty McFly and Doc Brown went into the future in the second installation of the classic film series. In the film, Marty constantly pines for a certain Toyota truck that he finally gets to drive in the third installation of the film.

Toyota has been contemplating the future of automaking for a while now. How can we streamline the process? How do we keep cars affordable, but safe, fun and innovative? Will robots eventually replace humans on the factory floor?
